In a few words

Become an Avenger! Draft heroes and battle Thanos for the Infinity Gauntlet!

Overview

In the Monopoly: Marvel Avengers Edition board game, you get to travel around the board and recruit Marvel Avengers heroes for your team. Heroes replace the properties from classic Monopoly. The more heroes you collect, the more money you earn, and the more powerful your character will be. Draft the heroes everyone knows and loves from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Hero Iron Spider, and 25 more!

This Marvel Avengers edition also includes special spaces on the board called Children of Thanos spaces. Watch out when you land on one! You will have to battle the Child of Thanos that you have landed on. Gather enough Infinity Gauntlet and Stark Industries cards, replacing the Chance and Community Chest cards, to get a better chance at winning!

Pros

One of the biggest pros of getting your own Monopoly Marvel Avengers box is definitely the exquisitely crafted player tokens. These one-of-a-kind golden figurines will definitely catch the fancy of any hardcore Marvel fan. Crafted in metal, they are made to be more hardy than plastic pieces. Besides, there are also 12 of them – far more to choose from than the 6-player limit. In addition to being great player tokens, they can also look good on a display shelf!

Another advantage is the affordability. Given the Marvel Cinematic Universe branding and the Marvel-themed accessories, the price of $29.99 for this Monopoly game sounds like an amazing deal. Although the packaging may not look as flawless as other themed Monopoly sets, it is the game within that matters.

Cons

Despite the Marvel-themed game items, this edition does not differ much from a traditional game of classic Monopoly. This may be a disappointment to anyone who was hoping for more hands-on battles with the Marvel characters. Although you get to “battle” Children of Thanos, there are only four of them and it is not so much mechanic-based as it is luck-based – you get to roll a dice for every hero card you have, and if your number matches the Child of Thanos, you defeat them and can move on. Although you can lose money if you are unable to match the number on the Child of Thanos you land on, there are no rewards for winning.

There are also some “bad” Infinity Gauntlet cards that make you lose money either way, which can make the tables turn in an instant if you happen to pick up a bad card. For example, you may pick up a card that requires you to roll a number on the dice. Regardless of what number you roll, you will have to pay money to the bank, just that the amount can be lower if you roll a good number.

Overall Review

On the whole, if you are planning to have a fun and intense Monopoly night, we would highly recommend playing the Marvel Avengers Edition. Any Marvel fans are sure to love the superhero-themed board game.

Even if you are not planning to play the game regularly, it makes for an excellent collector’s item or a gift to someone who collects Monopoly sets.

All in all, we think that you can’t go wrong with Monopoly Marvel Avengers. Face off the villains alongside your favorite heroes today!
